Marvin only has a few limitations while in trial mode so that you have an opportunity to evaluate the software with your workflow.
Trial license keys are valid for 7 days, starting immediately, not after download or activation.
The MarvinTrial user account can only be used to access a local (non-shared) copy of Marvin. To open a copy hosted by FileMaker Server, you'll need a full license to first add non-trial users, which have network access privileges.
After activating a trial license, subsequent openings direct you to the manage your software license page, and you'll need to click the trial allowance button to continue. This screen is normally bypassed during startup for non-trial licenses.
Below is a list of functions that are disabled in trial mode:
users
- cannot add users
- cannot delete users
- cannot change user status
- cannot reset user passwords
settings
- cannot save user preferences†
- cannot save naming conventions†
- cannot save show info
† You can make changes to the user preferences and naming conventions to test with your own data,
but they reset to their default values after a file is imported into any tool.
